When I stepped on the Glyndebourne stage and gazed out into the full auditorium during my first GYO performance of “Nothing” by David Bruce, I knew right away that this was my dream career. Glyndebourne has been an inspirational guide into opera, but it is also the people that I met along the way such as Mary King, Bijan Sheibani, Sian Edwards and Lucy Bradley who have been magnificent mentors during my years with Glyndebourne. Subsequently, receiving an unconditional offer to study vocal performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, under the tutelage of Dr Stephen Robertson, brought me significant inspiration and excitement and has continued to do so ever since through the training, opportunities, and connections I have made over the course of my time there.

Some of the achievements included, being part of RCS chamber choir and performing works of Vaughan Williams and Gerald Finzi, chorus member in Poulenc’s “Dialogues des Carmélites”, singing alongside RSNO and Patricia Kopatchinskaja, winning the Edith Brass prize in the Lieder competition as well as being selected as one of six participants in Karen Cargill’s associate artist program where I had the opportunity to tour Scottish castles and historic houses whilst performing Beethoven’s, Scottish folk songs. In our opera scenes, I was equally honoured to have been able to perform the roles of Monostatos from die zauberflöte, Alfred from die Fledermaus and Idamante from Idomeneo.

After successfully graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with honours of the 1st class, I was excited to move to London and begin the next chapter; Masters of Arts at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music, where I am fortunate to be mentored by singing professor, Susan Waters and coach, Joseph Middleton. This of course, would be impossible without the support of RAM entrance scholarship and Helpmusicians postgraduate award. Of course, besides studying on the Master’s program, I adore sharing my musical knowledge with students of all ages, backgrounds and experience. I believe that with the right guidance, support, and practice everyone has the ability to become a successful and passionate musician.
