Hey language learners! My name is Jamie and I'm from the beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa. Are you ready to take on the exciting challenge of learning English? As a tutor, I'm here to guide you through the process and make it as fun and engaging as possible. I'm currently in my final year of completing a diploma in Human Resource Management. In addition to my studies, I have over a years worth of experience as an English tutor and also being a Faculty mentor. I tutored students with the aim of helping them practice their conversational English, pronunciation and improve their reading, writing and speaking skills.
As for being a mentor, I provided guidance, emotional and academic support, as well as information to first year university students for the purpose of overall career management and adjustment into life at university. All our lessons will be centered on your needs and your pace. I believe that learning should be enjoyable, so I'll bring my personality into the class to keep you engaged and motivated throughout the process. We'll get to know each other, share stories and experiences, and use them as a basis for practicing your English skills.
When I'm not studying, I love exploring the hiking trails around Cape Town and whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen. Oh, and did I mention that some of my favorite hobbies include ice skating, playing the piano and video gaming? It's true – I love connecting with people and helping them achieve their full potential. My teaching philosophy is about creating a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages problem-solving and curiosity. I believe that with an open mind and positive attitude, students can blossom and grow.
