I am a 21-year-old girl who was born in Spain, thus studied there both primary and secondary school – after which I did IB (International Baccalaureate) the last two years of high school. During the earlier years of schooling I had all my classes in Spanish (save English grammar and literature), but for the last years I did several classes in English (including Business Management and Theory of Knowledge). After graduating high school I moved to the UK to the University of Warwick where I did my bachelor's in Politics and International Studies - class of July 2023. During my four years of university I had an intercalated year of study in Geneva (School of Diplomacy and International Relations) and in Paris (Sciences Po) where I earned certificates in both International Relations and Social Sciences and Humanities respectively. During this time I started practicing French, reaching B1.2-B2.1 level.
Beschreibung
I am a 21-year-old recent graduate at the University of Warwick in Politics and International Studies. I have always been someone very interested in helping my colleagues and friends understand concepts they have trouble with – thus I started taking interest in tutoring lessons, seeing as how I taught them really helped them. My methods are very focused on the student I am teaching and will vary depending on the level and way this student is used to being taught or what serves them better. I started tutoring English two years ago to primary school kids (age 8) for both vocabulary and grammar – creating several exercises that matched what they were studying. Younger students tend to respond better to visuals, thus games, flashcards and interactive reading work better for them. For older students I match the level of work they are used to – doing background research on their level and material for class and creating exercises (vocabulary, reading, writing) that will match that. This would be the case for both English and Spanish (native) for both literature and grammar. When it comes to more technical subjects e.g. Mathematics, it all comes down to practice – thus finding the perfect exercises and material is imperative, which is what I focus on and will do after figuring out the level the student has. After all, the student is the main factor, hence my classes will vary on what the student needs.
