Employment: Drama and English teacher - ISM (International School of Monza) - 2023 • I taught Drama, Performing Arts and English to International students aged 6 to 16 years for 6 months. • I taught exclusively in English. • It was a very enriching experience that I had to stop because of my upcoming master degree in the UK. English and Italian Tutor for International Students - Online - 2022+2021 • I tutored children after school and during the summer to help them improve their Italian in order to prepare for National School Exams. • Usually, they were foreigners from the International School of Bergamo, so not Italian speakers. Simultaneous Speaking Translator - Scuola Del Teatro Musicale - 2021-2022 • I simultaneously translated the lectures in University from English to Italian, as the professor was a native English speaker and my classmates only spoke Italian. • It has been the perfect situation to develop my simultaneous translating skills and to enrich my English vocabulary and fluency under tight time pressures. Hi! My name is Sofia and I was born and raised in Italy. Now I live in England because I am studying for a master degree in Screen Acting. I would describe myself as enthusiastic, positive and extroverted character. As I am always very energetic I have had loads of work experiences during my youth. I did teach Drama and Performing arts to children and teenagers, I waitressed quite a lot, translated from Italian to English (and vice versa) and gave private tutoring on both languages to students struggling. I much prefer focusing on what we can use everyday and apply that rather than studying grammar. For example, if the unit says you need to study food terminology in Italian, I would much prefer going together to the supermarket and learn them there, instead having them on a screen or book.
