I hold a Level 5 TEFL certificate and have completed all my studies from GCSE to University in the U.K.

I have spent a year abroad teaching English to children 5-15 in Daegu, South Korea as well as having previous tutoring experience with children ages 4-8 in the U.K.

I have taught children English from a young age, starting with the most basics - phonics! From ages 5-8 I would teach children through fun and interactive games and activities, within a semester, all children in my class started speaking either short words or sentences. With my slightly older students, ages 8-11, who already had a small vocabulary, I would focus on improving their English through story books. We would read the book together aloud and then the student would go through various tasks where they would match words with picture and build full sentences to describe the story in the book. With those aged 11+ I would use similar methods but the child(ren) would read the book aloud with very simple guidance from me, we would then spend time talking about the book and they would write a short summary which they would then read aloud - through this they would learn new vocabulary, practice their pronunciation as well as their writing.
